My name is Judy Antes and I live on a farm near Syracuse, NE. 2013 was my first year in the Distance Derby and I had a great time! Met some new people & hope to meet more this year.
I had no idea where to set my goals for 2013, mostly was interested in seeing how many miles I actually rode. Then when the 100 mile mark came up, I wanted to reach the next 100 miles and so it went, reaching 820.18. My goal for 2014, is 1000 miles.
Most of my miles are with my 9 yr old Paso Fino "Phoenix, aka "Nix". who's been with me since he was 6. We are finally getting it together..I think! For yrs I raised Arabians, but age and a weak back had me looking at the gaited breeds.
We ride our roads, fields, and my fav., the trails on state parks! I'm eager to begin the new year, however, I'm pretty much a fair weather rider & the early part of the year doesn't favor me.
