Team 62 - Husker Cowgirl

Hi, I'm Meghan Anderson. I decided to participate in the Derby to meet new people and keep track of my riding throughout the year. I thank my horse habit to my parents who gave me a Shetland pony when I was very little.

My husband, Troy, and I ranch near the small south central Nebraska town of Guide Rock. We have a commercial and registered Angus herd. I also have a job as a Beef Nutritionist for Aurora Cooperative, which keeps me very busy throughout the year.  We have one child, Zane Milton, and will celebrate his first birthday in January.

My DD team consists of four quarter horse geldings. Rummy - who will be 12 years old, Frankie - 7 years old, Horatio - 6 years old and Felix - 3 years old. I don't ride nearly as much as I used to - as a baby and busy job have a lot of my attention now, but when I do I try to make that time in the saddle really count.

Other than the horses and cattle, I enjoy running, blogging and being an advocate for agriculture and especially beef. If you get to know me very well, you will understand my passion toward ranch life and raising beef cattle.

If you need some quality reading material, please visit my blog at huskercowgirl.wordpress.com :)

I look forward to 2014 and hopefully meeting several of you out on the trail!
