End of June Leaderboard

The half way point!!!  The year is already have over or only half over depending on how you look at it.  For me it can be both or either depending on the day :-)  I am going riding tomorrow so tomorrow it is ONLY half over :-)  Happy trails!

June 23rd Leaderboard Update

Well it has come and gone....yes the longest time of daylight has passed us by and the days are getting shorter again.  Some people got to ride that day, fantastic.  Keeping riding everyone.  My mare that was lame is now doing better and I rode her for the first time today since the middle of May!  Sure was nice.  Thanks to great friends, I did ride a little on other horses during that time, but it wasn't the same :-)  Hope there is lots more riding in our future together!  Happy Trails.

June 16 Leaderboard Update

Here is the June 16th Leaderboard Update.  This has been a tough week weatherwise, but there has been alot of riding anyway :-)  Happy to see that.  Congrats to Team 74 - Crazy Legs, on her 1200 miles!

June 9th Leaderboard Update

We had a beautiful weekend for the Branching Out Clinic and CTR here near Lincoln, NE.  I was the ride secretary and had a blast watching all my friends ride and have fun.  But I will tell ya, that I am oh sooo much more tired then I have every been doing the ride myself.  That management stuff is tuff LOL.

End of May Leaderboard

Here it is the end of May and the beginning of June....June the month of summer, sure hope it is a good one.  Of course that means lots of riding and happy trails.  Congrats to Crazy Legs Team 74 for getting over 1000 miles already.  You go girl!!!  

This is mileage through May 31st, June 1 & 2 will be on next weeks leaderboard. Be sure that you look at your mileage and let me know if my math is wrong :-)

May 26th Leaderboard

Happy Memorial Day everyone!  Thanks to all the men & women would have served our country and their families that support them.    Congrats to Team 74 - Almost 1000 miles!  

May 19th Leaderboard

Yes, we are already past the middle of May, where has May gone so fast!  Must be all the riders burning up the trails!  I was at a CTR (competitive trail ride) this past long weekend and it was beautiful weather, perfect for long days in the saddle.  However, it also meant lots of logging everyone's posted miles.  Lots of people did lots of riding this weekend.  I know of a few vacations, an endurance ride, 2 or 3 CTR rides and many, many just plain butt in saddle rides :-)  Glad so many people got out to enjoy the weather!

May 12th Leaderboard Update

Here is the May 12th Leaderboard update.  I've been reading all the comments on all the posts here on the derby blog and reading all the reports on the DD2014 facebook page. I sure enjoy doing so many "virtual" rides with everyone.  Thanks for posting all your adventures so we all can enjoy them.  I'm not very good about posting about my rides.  Yes I will post a picture or 2 with a short "Ride done - Had fun" type message which is what I text my husband after every ride.   Well, after my ride on Friday at the 14th annual FBMDR (Friday before mother's day ride) I had to call my hubby instead of texting him, because yes, the ride was done and yes, I had fun, but I also bailed off my horse at 24 mph and broke my helmet and my glasses!  Got up and finished the ride.  I am very thankful that I always wear a helmet because if I hadn't, I am sure I would have finished my ride in an ambulance instead of on the back of my horse.  I am fine, a little sore and bruised but still looking forward to more riding.   A new friend (not a derby rider) also fell off her horse and broke her helmet this week.  Team 66 - Stacy had an unscheduled dismount and sprained her ankle so she will be hurting for awhile also.  We all know we take a risk when we ride and we ride anyways....it's in our blood :-)  Just saying "Be careful out there". 

May 5th Leaderboard Update

The first weekend in May was a very busy riding weekend, with CTRs, clinics and just plain riding being done by lots of people!  Happy Trails everyone :-)

End of April Leaderboard

End of April Leaderboard.  WOW, lots of people got some gooood riding in the month!  May is looking good too :-) May the month of my hubby being home every weekend by himself because I am out doing CTRs and camping with my horse [LOL]  Hope ya'll have a great month of riding.   Happy Trails everyone! My bad, I was not thinking about it and Jenny Anderson took on the t-shirt ordering and I never posted it here.  It was just posted on the facebook group.   Here is the info about it.  She is Team 52 - Lazy A.  Her email is horsemadinne@yahoo.com .  She had a order date by May 1st.  I did ask if she could extend that alittle.  

April 22nd Leaderboard

Here is the April 22nd Leaderboard.   Awesome to see so many people riding this week.  Hope to see alot more in the weeks to come.  Congrats to Team 74 for over 700 miles and Team 120 for over 400 miles already this year!

Just a quick note to say, my bad on not getting the leaderboard posted.  My sister is here from California for a visit and I just forgot about it.  I will get it posted tonight :-)  Thanks for your patience.

April 14th Leaderboard

Here is the April 14th Leaderboard.  I finally bit the bullet and got a new computer with Windows 8.1 on it.  I was on XP for the last 10 years and was very happy.  Not sure if I like 8.1 but I am trying so please bear with me during my pain :-)  Congrats to Team 74 Crazy Legs for have over 700 miles already.  Happy riding everyone!

April 7th Leaderboard Update

Here we are with the first week of April finished, with lots of riding since the weather cooperated for the most part.  Sure wish we could get some rain around here in Nebraska though.  Also this past weekend a bunch of us derby riders (and other friends) did a lot of trail clearing on one of great trails at 2 Rivers Recreation Area near Waterloo, NE.  We had a great time clearing trail in the morning and then after donated pizza and pie we rode the new trails :-)  As horse trail riders, we all should volunteer to help clear and maintain the trails we use to show our support and to keep our trails open.  That way we will be able to enjoy them for along time to come :-)
